Bepperton creates advertising campaigns, branding, and media productions for various famous clients including the government of Trinidad and Tobago, his home country.

Chris has earned an absolutely dizzying amount of awards for his work, including two ADDY gold awards (2007) and two ADDY silver awards (2010 and 2011) from the American Advertising Federation at the top National Level. The ADDYS are the most prestigious advertising awards in the world, and with his 2007 Gold Win as an animator of an ad with McCann Port of Spain, Chris became the first Caribbean National to have won a Gold ADDY at the National Stage, a fact that was extensively covered in Trinidad and Tobago’s Press.

The Interview

Tell me about where you are from and a little bit about your career and what you do.

I’m Chris and I am a filmmaker, Art Director and Animator from Trinidad & Tobago.

Have you ever lived in the US before? If so, under what circumstances? If not, what aroused your interest in a move to the US?

I’ve never lived in the US before. I have always seen the US on the forefront of producing the best entertainment culture in the world, at the highest standards and practices. I want to be part of that community.

How did you decide to pursue an EB1?

My partner introduced me to the process, and I believed I had the qualifications to see it come to fruition.

What was your experience with the EB1 petition process?

It was a very comprehensive look back at my career and at times the process was lengthy but necessary in order to produce the best evidence for the case.

What were some of the challenges you had to work on in the preparation of your case, for example evidence gathering?

In my case there was a lot of information, newspaper, blogs, awards and film and advertising showcases, so going through all of it one by one and choosing the best was sometimes up to interpretation, the lawyers assisted us and guided us through the process.

What kind of relationship did/do you have Chris and his team?

I would say their line of communication was always open. They were accessible to ALL our questions and concerns and guided us through the process.

What were you doing when you found out you were approved? What was your immediate reaction? How did/will you celebrate?

We were taking care of our 14yr old dog who just had chemo, we had a rough month. This news revived us to be honest, we were in shock and very very happy! We would probably make a nice meal and relax in the backyard with our dogs.

What are you looking forward to most about moving to the US?

Realizing my potential among the best and brightest in my field. Also enjoying the many cultural aspects that the US has to offer.

What will you miss the most about your home country?

My dogs and my backyard.

What advice would you give to any immigrant considering an EB1 or who is already in the process?

Be patient and don’t give up. Chris and his team work really hard in getting you through this, not ignoring any aspect of your case and brainstorming when it gets challenging.

Now Its Your Turn

If you can satisfy any three of the categories below you could be on your way to qualifying for your EB1 Green Card opportunity.
