Tell me about where you are from and a little bit about what you do?

I was born and raised in India. I moved to United States to pursue a Master’s Degree in Computer Science at Northeastern University, Boston. Since graduating, I have been working for technology companies like Meta, Uber and TripAdvisor.

Why do you want to live in America? What’s so special about America?

Technology is my passion and The United States is the top supporter of technology in the world. I plan to give back to the community of technology in the USA by increasing awareness about STEM fields and how they can pave an excellent career path along by supporting and teaching at non-profits using my computer science knowledge and skills. At a personal level, the U.S. has weaved beautiful memories for me, given that I met my wife at Northeastern university while studying for my Master’s. We have been happily married for the last four years and we both love the U.S. for it has given us a lot more than we expected and we continue to feel happy and welcome in this country of immigrants.

What was your visa choice and how did you come to that decision?

I came to the United States on an F1 student visa. I worked at technology companies on F1 STEM OPT and  applied for an H1B visa. Unfortunately I was not selected through the H1B lottery system. As such, I also applied for an H4 and worked with my H4 EAD visa. Being in the United States for 8+ years, my wife and I, now consider this as our home. Thereby, we started exploring the option of an EB1-A visa. Knowing my job responsibilities and work ethic, a colleague recommended that we reach out to the Law Offices of Chris M. Ingram.

How would you describe your experience in working with us?

It was a very smooth process working with the Law Offices of Chris M. Ingram. The team broke down the tedious and complicated process into milestones, which made the process easier in terms of collecting the necessary evidence required to file the EB1-A application. I highly appreciate the transparency, prompt responses, weekly check-ins and actionable feedback to ensure we provided high quality evidence.

What were some of the evidence challenges you had to work on in the preparation of your case?

Coming from a technical background, it was very hard to articulate my work in layman’s terms. Since the process involved lots of information gathering, for almost all my categories for EB1-A application, it was very hard to put it in the right context using the right words. Our caseworker, Valerie Lippman, really helped me by asking the right questions, providing great actionable feedback and nudging me in the right direction.

What were you doing when you found out you were approved? What was your immediate reaction? How did/will you celebrate?

When I checked the USICS site and saw the case status had changed to “Approved”, my immediate reaction was jumping up and down. I couldn’t believe my eyes. We celebrated the night by enjoying a wonderful dinner with friends and family.

Would you recommend your family and friends and why?

Since I was so impressed by the team working on my EB1-A case at the Law offices of Chris M. Ingram, I recommended my sister and also one of my colleagues. We really appreciate all of the team’s honest effort and specifically our case worker, Valerie Lippman’s professional approach towards helping us get our EB1-A application approved.
