Tell me about where you are from and a little bit about what you do?

I was born in Chennai, India, and grew up in the Middle East for most of my early childhood. I immigrated to the USA in 2009 to pursue my undergraduate degree and have lived here ever since. I currently work as Head of Product at an early-stage biotech company in the Neuroscience space, based out of the San Francisco Bay Area. Previously, I’ve worked as a Product Manager in the healthcare technology industry across medical devices, consumer electronics and big pharmaceutical companies. I have an undergraduate degree in Bioengineering from the University of Washington, Seattle and a Master’s in Engineering Management from Dartmouth College.

Why do you want to live in America? What’s so special about America?

Growing up, I believed that to pursue a career in healthcare and to have the opportunity to work on cutting edge research and product development, America was the place to be! And I was proven right about this from the very first class I took in college. I truly believe that America is and continues to be a land of opportunities, particularly in my field of tech-enabled healthcare. Moreover, I can be whoever I want to be here, no questions asked!

What was your visa choice and how did you come to that decision?

Like many of my peers, I was on an H-1B work visa for a majority of my professional career and was placed in the EB2 green card queue in 2018, with no permanent residency in sight. I also believed that my visa situation always held me back when it came to pursuing new opportunities and entrepreneurial ventures. Despite having a well-established career in product management, and several professional achievements to show for it both within and outside of work, I always felt my career was fleeting being on a work visa. It was only at the event of an impeding layoff that I decided that I wanted to overcome my immigration constraints forever and decided to give the EB1-A green card a shot.

How would you describe your experience in working with us?

Chris Ingram’s team instilled a lot of confidence in my profile from the get-go and were willing to work together with me to establish a strong EB1-A petition. I really liked how organized and meticulous the firm was with evidence collection, case argument development and communication with me as a client. Chris Ingram’s firm is the only firm that I encountered with experience representing Product Managers and professionals with expertise in business, and were able to help craft a solid case projecting my niche expertise.

What were some of the evidence challenges you had to work on in the preparation of your case?

There were several challenges from working on establishing new evidences, validating if existing artifacts met the requirements for the EB1-A as well as presenting all the artifacts effectively within my petition. Chris Ingram’s firm was very helpful in addressing my questions and concerns along the way and pointing me to the appropriate resources throughout process of my case preparation.

What were you doing when you found out you were approved? What was your immediate reaction? How did/will you celebrate?

I had just started a new job a few days prior to submitting my EB1A case and was in the middle of a 1:1 meeting with my colleague when I received the news. I immediately cut my call short, and shared the news with my husband (thanks to the both of us working from home). We were both completely over the moon! I also recall refreshing the USCIS website a few times just to be absolutely sure that the approval was indeed true! I received my approval in 8 days without any RFEs, and I only have Chris Ingram’s firm to thank for it!

Would you recommend your family and friends and why?

Absolutely! The firm has a can-do attitude and are determined to getting their clients approved. They also do adequate due diligence to keep up with the latest trends and updates, and have experience representing a diverse set of candidates.
