EB1 Green Card Success – Fashion Trend Spotter – Roisin – Ireland

EB1 Green Card Success: What we love about working with EB1 Aliens of Extraordinary clients is that often times they have gone to other immigration lawyers who have told them that they are just not extraordinary enough and then they get written off and then they happen to find our website and we see their achievements in a completely different way and before you know we’ve won their case. Why is that? The secret to EB1 green card success is determination and confidence. If you can muster both then we can get you an EB1 green card in a matter of months. Most people do not build their careers with the thought of one day getting a green card. Instead they just focus on advancing themselves in their career. When it comes to qualifying for an EB1 green card you have to have achieved certain things and even if you do not have them today, it does not take too much effort to strive for those specific EB1 green card requirements that will distinguish you for an EB1. Our success is based on knowing precisely what US Immigration needs to see to say yes and then working closely with our clients to have them do those things so we can present them as qualifying clients to USCIS. In this case, Roisin came to us, we worked closely with her, she did everything we asked of her and more and we prepared and filed her case and it was immediately approved. So let the celebration and good times begin. If this is something you’d like to explore give us a call, we always love a good after party.EB1 Green Card Success - Fashion Trend Spotter - Roisin - Ireland

EB1 Green Card Success – Fashion Trend Spotter – Roisin – Ireland

Tell me about where you are from and a little bit about what you do?

I am from Dublin/Ireland. I have worked in the fashion industry for the last 21 years, having started my very first job on the shop floor of a boutique, progressing on to one of the largest retailers in Ireland to start my training within the buying sector.

My last position in Ireland was for an international buying office before moving to Los Angeles to work for one of the largest fast fashion retailers, having obtained a H1B visa.

I had never lived in the US before so this was a great opportunity for me.

Why do you want to live in America? Whats so special about America?

I had thought about moving to the US on two occasions prior (when I was 20, then again when I was 28) as I have a brother and sister living here. For various reasons it didn’t work out and I had a lot of responsibilities in Ireland with property so I finally thought that it wasn’t going to happen until I got an opportunity from the company I am working with. However the process was very long and it took 1 full year to get an H1B visa.

I relocated to Los Angeles for work and immediately loved the lifestyle. I arrived in October and by January I had decided I was staying and, so in order to do this I knew I needed a green card. A green card would give me complete independence and I’d be able to move from company to company or even strike out on my own. There are several ways to get a green card so I have explored all of them before making a decision on which path I should take.

The EB1 green card would help me build my future in the US. Unfortunately, I had a very bad experience with the firm that processed my H1B visa process as it took 1 year along with a huge amount of issues I had with the law firm my employer had appointed. In hindsight, I should have gone for the O1 work visa (for aliens of extraordinary ability) as this visa is not subject to any restrictive quotas and be granted in a matter of weeks if successful.

Lawyers tend to specialize so if what you want is not in their core competency they will either discourage you or try and muddle through themselves, badly. So following this I decided to take this into my own hands. The firm that secured my H1B visa was encouraging me to proceed with the EB3 visa, which would take about five years and is really designed for candidates with only two to four years of college education and barely any experience. Moreover, I could only be hired if my employer could prove by way of extensive advertising that there were no Americans qualified take my job. Obviously, this was not an appealing process. The law firm also mentioned the EB2, which still has many of the above restrictions and only it takes about two years to go through the process.

Here, Roisin was invited by the Art Institute of California to participate as one of three judges and its keynote speaker at its Student Fashion Show.

What was your visa choice and how did you come to that decision? How would you describe your experience in working with us?

After talking with a few people in my Industry, the Law Offices of Chris M. Ingram came up a number of times. My first point of contact was Lindsey and she was more than helpful. After discussing my position and salary she suggested the EB1 green card option, and over the course of that week I went back and forth a number of times as the firm that did my H1B did not want to lose me as a client as they do a lot of work for my company and they were adamant that my EB1 green card application would fail. Despite their negative feelings I summoned everything I could and decide to choose the Law Offices of Chris M. Ingram to represent me for my EB1 green card application.

My experience was amazing, I chose the right firm – Lindsey and the rest of the team were more than patient with me. I sent numerous emails asking questions. Attorney Chris M. Ingram and EB1 specialist Lindsey guided and reassured me that I had a very strong case and in the event I was not successful I could gather more information to support my case.

What were some of the evidence challenges you had to work on in the preparation of your case?

My job is very demanding and Lindsey and the team worked around my schedule to ensure they got the information they needed. Lindsey made herself available even before 7am. Nothing was an issue.  I would say that my relationship with this law firm was outstanding – I must admit I know I was not an easy client for so many reasons, I was very anxious so Lindsey always had to work hard to put me at ease every time I had a concern. Attorney Chris also worked with to let me know everything was going smoothly. I think getting constant reassurance and supportive was crucial for me.

What were you doing when you found out you were approved? What was your immediate reaction? How did/will you celebrate?

So what was I do when I got the call that my case was approved – I was in a managers meeting deep in the stresses of the day. So I could not jump up and down when the news was that I was approved. I had to keep my composure until I could get by myself. I didn’t and still don’t believe it is real, I am in shock. Thankfully, my mum and nephew are arriving for holidays this weekend and I will celebrate with them.

Would you recommend your family and friends and why?

I’m so happy now – I have so much to look forward to and needless to say I’m glad I found the Law Offices of Chris M. Ingram to represent me. Make sure you spend time researching the right firm your choice will determine how successful you are.
